  • Educational content

Additional services may be added in the future.

3. Booking & Payment

All services must be paid in full before work begins.

Prices are shown in EUR and include VAT where applicable.

Your booking is confirmed once payment has been received.

4. Delivery

For written editorial feedback, the estimated delivery time will be communicated at the time of booking.

For One-to-One sessions, both parties will agree on a suitable meeting time.

Delivery times are estimates and may occasionally vary.

5. Your Responsibilities

To provide meaningful feedback, you agree to submit:

  • your manuscript or portfolio

  • any requested information

  • files in the requested format

You confirm that the work submitted is your own or that you have permission to share it.

6. Editorial Feedback

Editorial feedback represents my professional opinion based on more than 15 years of experience in children’s publishing.

Publishing decisions are always made independently by publishers.

Therefore, no service provided by The KidLit Editor guarantees publication, representation, commercial success, or acceptance by a publisher.

The KidLit Editor reserves the right to decline a project if she believes she’s not the right editor for your story. In that case, any payment made before work has started will be refunded in full.

The goal is never to rewrite your story for you. My role is to help you discover the strongest version of the story only you can tell.

7. Confidentiality

All manuscripts, illustrations, portfolios and personal information shared during the feedback process are treated as strictly confidential.

Your work will never be shared, published or discussed with third parties without your written permission, unless required by law.

8. Copyright

You retain full copyright and ownership of all materials you submit.

The KidLit Editor acquires no ownership rights over your manuscript, illustrations or creative work.

All feedback provided remains the intellectual property of The KidLit Editor and may not be reproduced, redistributed or resold without written permission.

9. Rescheduling

One-to-One Editorial Sessions may be rescheduled free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment.

Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance may be considered completed and are not eligible for a refund.

10. Refund Policy

Because editorial feedback is personalised and created specifically for your work, refunds cannot be provided once work has started.

Digital products, downloadable resources and completed editorial services are non-refundable.

If, for any reason, I am unable to deliver the agreed service, you will receive either:

  • a full refund, or

  • the opportunity to reschedule.

11. Limitation of Liability

Every effort is made to provide accurate, thoughtful and professional editorial guidance.

However, The KidLit Editor cannot be held liable for publishing outcomes, financial losses or decisions made based on editorial feedback.

You remain fully responsible for your creative and business decisions.

12. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy available on this website.

13. Changes

These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time.

The most recent version will always be available on this website.

14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Belgium.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Belgian courts.
